For the chronically subscribed

Close the tabs. Keep the fics.

WIP Inbox keeps track of every fic you're reading, following, and saving for later — built from the AO3 update emails you already get. Private, automatic, and it never forgets which chapter you're on.

No AO3 login. No scraping. No AI, ever. Free for up to 10 fics.

Stats & recaps

Fic reading counts.

Chapters and words by week, month, year. Your top fandom, your top ships, your top tags. And at the end of every month, your recap cards — the ones worth posting. The earlier you start tracking, the richer they get.

Sample WIP Inbox monthly recap card showing 1,065,622 words read across 427 chapters and 41 works in July 2026, with top fandom Heated Rivalry.

Private by default, sharable if you want the credit.

For the community.
Not AI.

WIP Inbox is a tool that serves readers and respects authors. It doesn't host, reproduce, or feed any fic content into AI. It just helps readers find their way back to the work they love.

No ads. No data selling.

The whole product runs on emails you choose to forward. That's the design, and it's load-bearing:

  • No AO3 login. There's no field to enter it. We couldn't act as you if we wanted to.
  • No scraping. WIP Inbox never fetches AO3 pages. Everything we know arrived in an email you sent us, or you typed it yourself.
  • Emails discarded after parsing. We keep the facts — title, author, chapter, tags — never the email, never the fic.

There's even a free DIY guide if you'd rather build your own with Google tools. Valid.

For readers

Your fandom, finally organized.

  • Every WIP you follow, tracked and resurfaced when it's time
  • Remember where you left off in every fic
  • No scraping, no sharing your AO3 login
  • Built from the emails you already get
For authors

On your side. Always.

  • Your work is never read, stored, or processed
  • Never fed to AI. Not for training. Not for anything.
  • Readers are sent back to AO3 to read, kudos, and comment
  • More engaged readers, not fewer
  • Author profiles are free, always.

Questions, answered

Do I have to give WIP Inbox my AO3 login?

No — there's nowhere to enter it. WIP Inbox works entirely from AO3 notification emails you forward and links you paste.

Does WIP Inbox scrape AO3?

No. It never fetches AO3 pages or content. It parses the subscription emails you forward, then discards them.

Is this an AO3 app?

No, and it doesn't try to be — AO3 has no official app, and WIP Inbox isn't affiliated with AO3 or the OTW. It's a private tracker that organizes your reading and sends you back to AO3 to read. Longer answer →

What does free include?

Tracking for up to 10 active fics, unlimited On Deck, your library, the weekly digest, and your monthly recap cards. No credit card.

Does any AI touch my fics or reading data?

No. No AI reads, summarizes, or trains on fic content or reading history — that's a permanent commitment, not a settings toggle.

Can I import my existing spreadsheet?

Yes — if you've been tracking your reading in a spreadsheet, you can import it as a CSV and bring your whole history with you. Your system kept the records; WIP Inbox keeps them running.

Can I get my data out?

Yes — your reading exports as a clean CSV. Your history is yours.

Your inbox is a mess.
Your reading shouldn't be.

Reader is free, forever — track up to 10 stories with full updates and a tidy shelf. Want more shelves, more tags, and more stuff that makes it yours? See what Fanatic unlocks →
